Blue Mar Real Estate Group, Inc. is committed to making the Recourse Service accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We want every Florida homeowner who could benefit from our work to be able to use it.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. The AA level addresses a wide range of accessibility considerations including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive needs.

Conformance to WCAG 2.1 AA includes:

  • Captions and alternatives for multimedia
  • Content that can be presented in different ways without losing meaning
  • Distinguishable content (sufficient color contrast, resizable text, clear typography)
  • Content accessible by keyboard only
  • Time considerations (no content that flashes more than three times per second)
  • Navigability (multiple ways to find content, descriptive page titles, focus order)
  • Readability (clear language, mechanism for unusual words)
  • Predictable navigation and behavior
  • Input assistance (clear labels, error identification, error suggestions)

Specific accessibility features

The Service includes:

  • Semantic HTML for screen reader navigation
  • Keyboard navigation for all interactive elements
  • Sufficient color contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Resizable text without loss of functionality
  • Alt text for meaningful images
  • Descriptive link text
  • Form labels and error messages
  • Skip navigation links
  • Consistent navigation structure
  • Logical heading hierarchy
  • Captions for any video content
  • Transcripts where appropriate

Known limitations

We are committed to accessibility but acknowledge known limitations:

  • Some PDFs provided by third parties (lender documents, government forms) may not be fully accessible. We work to provide accessible alternatives where possible
  • Third-party tools embedded in the Service (mapping, document viewers) may have their own accessibility limitations
  • Some interactive visualization tools (the foreclosure timeline visualizer, the conditions dashboard) are in active development and may have accessibility improvements pending

We are actively addressing these limitations as we develop the Service.

Alternative formats

If any content on the Service is inaccessible to you for any reason, we are happy to provide it in an alternative format. Please contact us with:

  • The page or content that's inaccessible
  • The barrier you encountered
  • Your preferred alternative format (large print, audio, plain text, etc.)

We will provide the content in an accessible alternative format within a reasonable time frame, typically within 5 business days.

Assistive technology compatibility

We test the Service with several assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
  • Voice control: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control (Apple), Voice Access (Google)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Switch control devices
  • Screen magnifiers: ZoomText, built-in magnification
